WHAT IS THE LISBURN PARTNERSHIP

Lisburn Partnership was established in November 2001 to administer Measure 3, Priority 1 and 2 of the European Union Programme for Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland. Lisburn Partnership was previously known as Lisburn Peace & Reconciliation Partnership, which was established in 1996 to administer what was commonly known as Peace I. The new Partnership is now responsible for administering Peace II. Measure 3 is designed to support community and economic development within the City while addressing social need and trying to alleviate some of suffering as a direct result of the conflict Northern Ireland has endured over the years.

Lisburn Partnership completed its Integrated Strategy in July 2002 and it is now working towards its implementation and continued development.

The Lisburn Partnership is a Company limited by guarantee and has just achieved charitable status. The managing authority for the Lisburn Partnership is the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). SEUPB is one of the 6 cross Border Bodies established as part of the Good Friday Agreement.

The Partnership has 28 Directors with the majority being nominated by nominating bodies.
